Rules during Game Play
Players
Recording Etiquette
1a. All players must conform to maintaining at least a 95 % speed average and they are not allowed to use autofire. Penalty is disqualification of the questioned recording and the player must submit a new recording.
1b. All players must conform to the rules set by the coordinator. (like no leeching, etc.) Penalty is disqualification of the questioned recording and the player must submit a new recording. COORDINATORS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ANY RECORDING FOR ANY LEGITIMATE REASON!!!
1c. All players must submit during the duration of the round. Penalty for submitting before or after the duration of the round is automatic disqualification of the questioned recording and the player must submit a new recording. All recording files must have a date equal the dates of the duration of the round.
1d. All recordings must be submitted immediatly. Any recording that is not submitted less than 24 hours after the recording was made will have that recording disqualified.

Round Duration
2a. The qualification round will last thirteen days from November 1, 0000 GMT until November 13, 2359 GMT.
2b. The joystick round will last seven days from the starting date on the joystick schedule, 0000 GMT until seven days afterward, 2359 GMT. For example, if a game starts on November 19, the game will end November 25.
Qualification to the Joystick Round
3a. Any player that meets any of the qualification requirements will move on to the joystick round.
3b. If less than three players qualify for a particular game during the qualifing round, the game will be open play for joystick play.
3c. If three players or more qualify, only them will move on to the joystick round, even though it may be less than the coordinator placed on the rules of the game. (If 3 players qualify and the coordinator put 5 players qualify, the joystick round will continue with only those 3 players.)
Participation by Country
4a. The player will play for one and only one country.
4b. The player must play for a country he is an official citizen of.
4c. If the player is not an official citizen of any country, s/he will be allowed to play for the current country of residence.
4d. If the player is an official citizen of more than one country, s/he may play for the country of his choice where s/he is an official citizen thereof.
Rights of the Player
5a. Any player may ask the coordinator to request for a speed/autofire check of any particular recording any number of times / game (provided s/he has submitted a recording for that game) / round. The coordinator will then determine if it is worthy to forward that request to an editor.
5b. All players have the right to file a grievance if they are not satisfied with any call made. See the grievance section for details.
Coordinator
Game Participation
1a. The coordinator has the right to play in the game s/he is coordinating.
1b. Should the coordinator choose to play, a playback judge the coordinator's assigned other than the coordinator itself will confirm the recording. If there is no playback judge, then the editor assigned to that game will playback the recording.
Enforcement of Rules
2a. The coordinator will inform the editor assigned to the game to disqualify any recording for any legitimate reason other than slowdown or autofire.
2b. The coordinator has the right to request the editor in charge for a speed/autofire check of any particular recording any number of times / game he is coordinating / round.
2c. The coordinator may/will recieve requests for autofire/slowdown requests from players and playback judges. It will be up to the coordinator to decide if it is worthy of forwarding that request to an editor to process.
Playback Judge
Game Participation
1a. The playback judge has the right to play in the game s/he is coordinating.
1b. Should the playback judge choose to play, a playback judge the coordinator's assigned other than the playback judge itself will confirm the recording. If there is no playback judge, then the editor assigned to that game will playback the recording.
Enforcement of Rules
2a. Should the playback judge determine there is a possibility of an autofire/slowdown recording, s/he must submit a request to the coordinator for processing.
Participating Editors
Game Participation
1a. The editors will be assigned a game to oversee autofire/slowdown violations.
1b. The editor has the right to play in the game s/he is assigned to oversee.
1c. Should the editor choose to play, a playback judge the coordinator's assigned other than the editor itself will confirm the recording. If there is no playback judge, then the game coordinator will playback the recording. If the coordinator is an editor, then another editor will playback the recording.
Enforcement of Rules
2a. Any request from a game coordinator for autofire/slowdown checks must be granted. The editor will then determine whether or not autofire/slowdown was used. If so, he will disqualify the recording.
2b. The editor has the right to check for autofire/slowdown even if the request is not made. If he determines it was used, then he will disqualify the recording.
2c. Any request from the game coordinator to disqualify a recording for any legitimate reason besides autofire/slowdown must be granted unless the editor feels that the violation did not take place.
Grievance Process
1. Should a grievance
occur with a player, the following hierarchy will take place:

Editor assigned to the game

Olympiad Coordinator
2. If the grievance occurs between a coordinator and an editor, the issue goes directly to the Olympiad Coordinator unless the coordinator and/or editor is the Olympiad Coordinator, then a different editor will make the final decision.
3. If the grievance involves the Olympiad Coordinator, then the Olympiad Coordinator's decision is final - unless he is a player of the game in question, then the editor assigned to the game's decision is final. If the editor assigned to the game happens to also be the Olympiad Coordinator, then a different editor will make the final decision.
4. All decisions the Olympiad Coordinator has to make will be final.
